Danny Capozzi

Danny Capozzi has been obsessed with drawing characters from the age of 6. He was the odd kid at the back of the classroom annihilating his textbooks with oodles of doodles whilst making sound effects. Growing up in the 80’s, Danny Capozzi was inspired by the graphics and the cultures that surrounded him; Skateboarding, Graffiti, Breaking, DJing and all those other fads that made you look cool at school for about a week. As the novelty of playground gymnastics wore off the unstoppable torrent of twisted ideas and creatures continued. In 1999 Danny Capozzi started to put on exhibitions in Bristol and London and soon became part of the urban art scene where he adopted his pseudonym HERO73*. In 2001 Danny Capozzi decided to round up all his doodles under one roof and opened the Bionyc Industries Studio/Shop along with his sister Bru creating limited edition prints and T-Shirts. After illustrating for 7 years the next natural progression for Danny was to move into Animation, working as an illustrator, Production designer and Director on Series, short films, idents and commercials. During this time Danny Capozzi has had the great pleasure of working with Aardman Animations, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Channel 4 and MTV along with a host of ad agencies based both in the UK and the USA. Danny’s Hershey’s ads have been running for the past 4 years in the US. Danny’s series Chop Socky Chooks has been a huge success both in the UK and the USA.
