I have been a freelance childrens illustrator, muralist, storyboarder and comic artist since leaving the University of Northumbria with a BA (hons) in graphic design and illustration. Born in Hampshire, UK, I had a country upbringing in a scatty household full of cats, dogs, ducks, hens, rabbits, goldfish and goats, little brothers and a pet hen called Victoria who have all appeared at some stage or another in my drawings. I have worked extensively in the fields of publishing, design and advertising, editorial, greetings cards, one-off commissions and exciting art projects for a number of clients both here in the UK and overseas. I mainly work in pencil, crayon, acrylics, pen and ink and also digital media (photoshop, illustrator and storyboard pro). Recent large scale works include painting an owl for Minervas Owls of Bath charity fundraiser in 2018. And also a lion for Lions of Windsor charity fundraiser in 2019. I have also been working for an animation company, doing all the storyboarding and then working with the fab design team for a children’s TV programme, currently on CBeebies iplayer called Nick Cope’s Popcast. I currently live in Bath with my partner, also an illustrator and artist, 2 children, 2 cats and there’s a pondful of newts and frogs who live in my garden.
