About the exhibition:

Wild Anatomies is an exhibition exploring the connections between the human body and the world of plants through the work of 7 artists working across the disciplines of painting, ceramics, textiles, printmaking and collage.

It reimagines the internal body as a microcosmic universe, where cells, ribs, muscles, and arteries, find connection with the patterns and rhythms of plants and organisms of the organic world that we all inhabit and share. Here, arteries split and divide into veins to become roots, glands become nodules, the ovary mimics the seedpod, while threaded stitches and shapes in the clay represent cells or globules. By exploring parallels between the infinite universe within our own anatomy and other living organisms, we discover common threads that bind us together so intricately, both to the natural world, and to the cycles of life, death, and renewal.
