Words and Pictures: An Evening with Marta Altés.

Join picture book makers Birgitta Sif and David Barrow for an (online) evening with multi award-winning illustrator and author Marta Altés.

Marta Altés is the creator of New In Town, My Grandpa, I am an Artist!, Little Monkey, Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories plus many more. She loves to tell stories, and her love of illustration saw her study for a degree in Graphic Design in Barcelona. Marta moved to the UK to study for an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art and graduated in 2011. Since then, she has won the Read It Again! Award and the Nottingham Children’s Book Award and her first book No! was shortlisted for the Waterstone’s Picture Book Prize, and Little Monkey was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Award 2018 as well as being distributed to over 70,000 schools across England as part of  BookTrust’s Time to Readcampaign .

Marta will be answering questions , as well as inviting you to share an interactive insight into her process. So, bring along pencils, paper and as always, as much creativity as you can muster!
