For this meet-up we chat with TRIBAMBUKA. She will walk us through her creative process and experiences working through complex feelings and emotions, and how she uses them as fuel for art practice.

Love, fear, anger, loneliness, longing – anything is valid and is a useful tool to get to know the world, ourselves and others, and to create impactful and honest art that speaks to the audience. Together with Anastasia, which is the real name of the artist, we will explore the sense of belonging as an immigrant, deep dive into female rage and see how one’s broken heart can be transformed into successful print editions!

Anastasia Beltyukova aka Tribambuka is a London based award-winning visual storyteller with 15+ years of creative experience who connects people to brands and ideas through lively, soulful whimsical images. She wears many hats, being an illustrator, animation and art director, senior graphic designer and a visual artist.

She’s worked for brands like CNN, The Wall Street Journal, NHS, Babylon Health, Migration Museum, Shelter and many more. She held over 15 public talks and her work has been recognised with over 30 awards in illustration and animation. She’s been featured in Steven Heller’s “Illustration Idea Book: Inspiration from 50 Masters” and included in the top 20 Creative Influencers on Creativepool. She’s also an exhibiting artist, with her last solo show taken place in OXO Tower Wharf in London in 2022. Her works are inspired by myths and archetypes and carry some Russian Avant-Garde flavour infused with swinging sixties vibe.

The Mixer is the disabled illustrators AOI meet-up. Our meet-up is open to all disabled illustrators, in the widest possible definition. This meet-up is about everyone involved to feel welcome to take part in building a community of trust. This is a place for disabled artists and illustrators to feel safe to speak up about any hardships and issues we have been challenged with and the solutions we came up with. We want to celebrate our proud moments, share our wins and most importantly – the love of making art.

The Mixer meet-up is a safe bubble to make new friends, get inspired and be supported. It is your space to blow some air, seek advice or simply share your art, tips and tricks to making it within the creative industry. All illustrators are welcome no matter where they stand in their professional career and whether they are an AOI member or not.

This meet-up will be online via Zoom. You will receive the link upon booking.
