The Character Of The Metropolis

A new exhibition of architectural drawings by AOI Member Agustin Coll.

Agustin is interested in the narrative and expressive capacity of architecture, along with how it echoes the history and identity of our ever-changing built environment.

This exhibition brings together a selection of his playfully subversive technical drawings, where cinemas in bowler hats hang alongside schematics of sword-wielding museums, bringing life into fabricated structures that walk the line between the android and the anthropoid.

These metropolitan characters appear to him during his exploratory walks and cycle rides in his adopted home of London, and are influenced by land art, video games and avant-garde architectural groups such as Archigram.
