
Rockpool explore and draw / Falmouth illustrator meet-up
Meet Ups, WorkshopsJoin the Falmouth illustrator meet-up group: Hive – joined by local rock pool expert Vicky Barlow – for their first ever explore and draw session.Vicky will be showing us marine critters such as Cushion Star, Shore Crab, Rainbow Wrack, Squat Lobster and lots of other wonderous creatures for us to learn about and draw.
Please note: This is a ticketed event with very limited spaces, so if you want to come please buy your ticket as soon as possible.
When, where & what to bring:
We will be meeting at Castle Beach Café at 11am on April 13th and for a couple of hours Vicky will be giving us a tour of the rock pools for us to draw. Please bring your sketchbooks, sketching utensils, refreshments, suitable clothing and sturdy footwear (esp. wellies!).
Feel free to grab drinks and snacks from Castle Beach Café and at the end we will do a casual show and tell of our favourite sketches and creatures of the day.
A bit about our rockpool expert Vicky:
Vicky is a rockpool guide extraordinaire as well as a wildlife photographer and designer. She is well known for finding the first ever recorded rainbow sea slug in Cornwall. Hopefully we might be lucky enough to glimpse this rare find. You can read all about Vicky’s find here.
Accessibility:
This event has rocky terrain & there is a slope down to the beach so may not be suitable for some people. This event is for over 18s only.
Parking & Transport:
There is plenty of on-street parking above the café and Falmouth Docks train station is a 6 minute walk away.
