Join picture book makers Birgitta Sif and David Barrow for an (online) evening with award winning illustrator and author Anna Doherty, as she talks with us about the creation of her picture books, non-fiction books and everything else in between. Book your ticket here!
Anna will present an exploration into how working on lots of different projects can improve your process, how interaction is a fun and important part of the drawing (and writing) practice, and how to enjoy working outside your comfort zone!
Anna Doherty is an illustrator and writer from Edinburgh. Since graduating Cambridge School of Art’s Children’s Book Illustration MA, she has worked on any illustration project she can get her pencil on, spanning picture books, non-fiction series, chapter books, anthologies and science communication.
She is the creator of The Fantastically Feminist (And Totally True) biographies series, picture books Sticky and Fair Shares (with Pippa Goodhart), and much more. Her most recent book, Lots of Dotswith Pippa Goodhart and Tiny Owl was published last month, and her book Human Town with Alan Durant and Tiny Owl won the 2023 Derby Children’s Picture Book Award.
Anna will kindly be answering any questions you may have, as well as inviting you to share an interactive insight into her process. So, bring along pencils, paper and as much creativity as you can muster!
