How to make a graphic novel: Anna Mill + Luke Jones

27th February 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

A Cass Visual Communication talk by Anna Mill and Luke Jones.

Anna Mill studied architecture at The Bartlett UCL, where she became increasingly interested in the power of illustration in architecture, and architecture in illustration. She is interested in work that spans between old and new artistic practices, from traditional hand-constructed perspectives through to illustration in virtual reality. Together with Luke Jones, she published the graphic novel Square Eyes, which used the setting of a near future city to explore our current preoccupations with technology. Square Eyes won the World Illustration Awards 2019.

Luke Jones is an architect and lecturer, with an interest in the speculative or science fictional and how that connects with investigations of history, deep time and materiality. He is a co-host of the podcast About Buildings + Cities, exploring architectural history, theory, process and ideas from the distant past to the present day.

The Cass Visual Communication talks feature leading industry creatives in the fields of visual communication, illustration, animation, graphic design and publishing. The talks are open to the public and tickets cost £5.  London Met students have free entry with their student card.
