From Animation to Picturebook – An Evening with Anete Melece
Meet UpsJoin us for an evening (online) with award winning illustrator and animator Anete Melece as she talks with us about the creation of ‘The Kiosk’ (published in the Uk by Gecko Press), a wonderfully funny picture book about feeling stuck based on her award-winning animated short.
Book your ticket here.
Originally published in Latvian by Liels un mazs, the book is set to be published in many more languages, including Swedish, German and Korean. We’ll hear more about her creative process, and the challenges she encountered whilst transforming a film into a book.
As usual, there will be plenty of time for Q&A after the talk. We would love to hear from you!
Anete Melece studied Visual Communication at the Art Academy of Latvia and Animation at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Her animated short ‘The Kiosk’ has been shown in film festivals around the world and received many awards. Anete lives and works in Zürich as an animator and illustrator of comics and children’s books.
The AOI Children’s Picture books meet-up welcomes illustrators at all stages of development – from those just starting out, graduates early in their career, more established illustrators and authors or anyone with a passion for picture books!
The AOI would like to make events accessible to all, where possible. Please let us know your access requirements at least one week in advance by emailing [email protected]
