Online Events, TalksOur next AOI Discusses continues this season, will explore how building your own network of potential customers can kickstart or even feed into building a sustainable illustration business.
As illustrators, it’s important to balance your income in a number of ways. In this AOI Discusses session we’ll be talking to illustrators who have utilised different options to fund projects, find clients, reward loyalty shopping and share exclusive works in a way suited to them.
We’ll be speaking to Fran Meneses AKA Frannerd and Andy J Pizza about how the utilise their creative skills on platforms like Patreon, Substack etc, to build and communicate with their audience, find clients, share exclusive content or even fund projects, in a way suited to them.
Our Guest Speakers:
The New York Times Bestselling author-illustrator of many books for children and adults such as “Invisible Things” and “A Pizza with Everything On It”.
He is also the creator of the popular and riveting podcast Creative Pep Talk. He lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his family.
Fran Meneses, AKA frannerd, is an illustrator, content creator and author. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile. Known for her online comics depicting the ins and outs of freelancing and mental health.
As well as hosting numerous workshops and talks in the United States, Chile, Mexico, Germany, United Kingdom and Spain, she’s also been featured in Forbes, Huffington Post, Oh Comely Magazine, Flow Magazine, The AOI, The Society of Illustrators (USA), and DPI Magazine in Taiwan. She currently lives in Brooklyn with her elder cat Hamburguesa.
