Drawn In Conversation / Manchester illustrator meet-up

February 8 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

At our first meet-up in 2024, we’ll be drawing in the conversation about earning a living as an illustrator in Manchester! Book below or via our Eventbrite.

In true Manc spirit, we’ll be keeping it real by sharing four stories by local illustrators who are building careers in the city.

Louise French, Jordan Yates, Catherine Booth and Nathan Hackett have all taken very different paths as illustrators. As our speakers for the evening, they’ll share their individual stories about their illustration journey so far, and their insights into…

  • Their work and clients.
  • Their biggest learnings.
  • Most important turning points.
  • The high ‘n’ lows of carving out a career in the industry.

To get the conversation flowing, a panel talk and Q&A will follow. We’ll open the floor to questions and delve deeper into topics such as…

  • Developing your illustration style.
  • How to get new clients.
  • Benefits of having an agent.
  • Balancing corporate work with more creative commissions.

No matter where the conversation goes, we know it will be an inspiring one, full of tips, ideas and advice to take away and inspire you on your path as an illustrator.

We can’t wait. Let’s draw in the good times together and see you there!

Organised as part of the AOI, Drawn In is the Manchester meet-up group for illustrators in the city. Our mission is to help you feel connected, inspired and supported as an illustrator, because we get that illustration can feel like a lonely business sometimes.
