Maisy Summer and Sarah Wilson from Small Fry Collective will be sitting down and chatting with children’s book illustrator Ian Morris to delve into his career so far. Plus you’ll hear practical advice on how to get into the world of publishing. There will also be personal drawing prompts intertwined throughout in a welcoming interactive environment! Bring all your questions to this online Zoom event.
About Ian Morris
Ian Morris is a passionate Illustrator with an authentic illustrative voice. He spends time observing his charming hometown, Manchester. Which, he believes lends inspiration for his characterful and whimsical illustrations.
Ian has a Masters in Illustration from Manchester School of Art. Upon graduating from his BA in 2017, Ian was recognised by the Association of Illustrators for their Top Ten Upcoming Image Makers. Recently, Ian has gained more recognition for his illustrative abilities being longlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize 2022 for his debut picture book The Library Book (Thames & Hudson).
Ian has worked on a variety of commissions including Every Word Tells A Story by Tom Read Wilson (Quarto), The Library Book by Gabby Dawnay (Thames & Hudson), Alfie’s First Fight by Oliver Sykes (Stories Of Care) and previously worked as monthly Illustrator for Prospect Magazine’s Upfront article section as well as developing his own projects. Ian is enthusiastic about encouraging reading and drawing for children, as a Literacy Champion with the National Literacy Trust for Manchester Central Library. Ian is represented by Neil Dunnicliffe of Spring Literary.
