Cemetery Draw at Arnos Vale / Bristol illustrator meet-up / Pip
Meet Ups, WorkshopsThis special edition of Put Into Practice, Bristol’s illustrators meet-up will be co-hosted by legendary Bristol illustrator, freelance artist and award-winning comics creator, Jayde Perkin.
Jayde is author of Mum’s Jumper and her beautiful work often explores themes of nature, emotions, mindfulness and grief – so expect some gentle and thoughtful drawing prompts along those lines throughout the session.
We’ll all meet at the main entrance on Bath Road, then head into the grounds for a wander and draw. There’ll be time to sit, draw, reflect, and chat, and we’ll take a lunch break in the middle. There’s a cafe and toilets on site, but feel free to bring along your own food, drinks and snacks too. There will be an optional visit afterwards to a nearby pub to extend the afternoon if you so wish!
A few things to keep in mind:
> Please don’t include names on gravestones in your drawings or photos.
> Please be respectful and do not take photos of any recent graves.
> Please don’t sit on graves, or sit on either of the two Gardens of Rest lawns.
> Benches are fine to sit on, and there are many lovely quiet spots throughout the grounds.
> Take care near roads within the site.
> Please take all rubbish home with you.
If you post your drawings online, feel free to tag @arnosvalecemetery @pipillustration @theaoi We’d love to see them!
