Interested in illustration but don’t know where to start? Get a fun and gentle introduction in this four-week course, organised by the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration.
You’ll be guided through a series of mini creative projects by award-winning illustrator Merlin Evans. Each session will explore a different technique, including drawing, character design, typography, printmaking and pop-up paper construction.
By the end of the course you will have experimented with different illustration techniques. You will have created a range of new work and have new ideas that you can take forward to build your illustration practice.
This course is ideal for beginners and the curious! No experience is needed. Our small class size of no more than 16 students will ensure you receive personalised feedback from Merlin in a relaxed and friendly group setting.
About Merlin
Merlin Evans is an award-winning illustrator, scribe and educator. She is currently Performance in Residence Medical Artist at the Centre of Performance Science. She has lectured internationally and taught at numerous art colleges and universities. Merlin’s previous clients include Tate Modern, The British Library, the NHS and Time Out.
