AOI Webinar: Understanding Contracts Better

The next instalment of our webinar series investigates the most important contract points you need to be aware of. Open for all illustrators. Book below or via our Eventbrite.

Want to be able to understand clients’ contracts and make sure they are fair to you, but not sure what they mean?

Covering a variety of contract types, the aim of this webinar is to give you the tools you need to understand contracts and be aware of elements that may not be in your best interests as a freelancer.

The webinar will run from 1.00pm – 2.00pm BST this 30th June.

We will take a comprehensive look at a range of areas, including what can clients do with your artwork (rights), what promises you are giving them (warranties and indemnities), and are you covered if things end (termination)?

We’ll cover:

– Different types of contracts, what they are for and what the main areas of a contract are

– Understanding what rights you are giving and what clauses to look out for

– What to do if you are offered a copyright assignment in all your rights.

This webinar will be a live presentation, so you’ll have the opportunity to submit questions during the session.

Your presenter will be Derek Brazell, Membership & Publications Manager at the AOI, who has been advising members on contracts for many years.

Platform: This webinar will be hosted on Demio. Once you purchase your Eventbrite ticket you will receive a registration link to the event (there is no need to sign up for a trial or set up an account). Once registered you’ll receive your unique link to access the event this upcoming 30th June.
