AOI’s Publications & Membership Manager, Derek Brazell will break down the daunting business of contracts into manageable chunks, clearly explaining the main clauses you’ll come across, including:
• Advances and royalties.
• The rights you are giving to the publisher.
• Option and cancellation clauses.
• Subsidiary rights like USA and translation rights, merchandising, and more.
You’ll find out which ones are most important and, crucially, what to challenge to make an agreement more favourable to yourself as the creator, with a Q&A at the end of the session as usual.
Platform: This webinar will be hosted on Demio. Once you purchase your Eventbrite ticket you will receive a registration link to the event (there is no need to sign up for a trial or set up an account). Once registered you’ll receive your unique link to access the event this upcoming 22nd March.
