All illustrators are seeking new clients, and understanding the process of finding clients and getting commisisoned by them is vital to start and maintain your illustration career.

Authors of Becoming A Succssful Illustrator, Jo Davies & Derek Brazell will be joined by leading industry commissioner Mélissa Charland of Publicis Canada to discuss what commissioners want, how they find illustrators and what their expectations are when working with them, helping you evaluate the contents of your folio and consider the skills you bring to potential commissioners.

The webinar will run from 5.00pm – 6.00pm GMT on 23 May.

In Getting Illustration Clients we’ll cover:

The book and the first hand research that went into it.

Breakdown of overall client expectations of illustrators promotion across a range of commissioning areas.

Our experienced industry client will comment on several projects where they commissioned illustration.

Discussion on promotion for illustrators and what clients want.

Q&A

This webinar will be a live online presentation on Zoom, so you’ll have the opportunity to submit questions during the session. Eventbrite will email reminders from 2 hours before the event.

The session will be recorded and made available in a follow up email to all those who purchased a ticket. The recording will be made avaialble for two weeks after the session.

Your presenters will be Derek Brazell, Publications & Membership Manager at the AOI, and illustrator and writer Jo Davies.

Derek and Jo are co-authors of Becoming a Successful Illustrator and the new Getting Illustration Clients.

Joining them is leading, experienced industry illustration commissioner Mélissa Charland of Publicis Canada.
