AOI | London ILLO TALKS with Aurélia Durand
This Art is Anti-Racist
For this talk, you’re invited to enter the vivid world of Aurélia Durand, the French illustrator behind This Book is Anti-Racist, a New York Times-bestselling young adult book by Tiffany Jewell. Aurélia’s work is dedicated to representing people of colour in society, using bold art as a demonstration. Her rhythmic, multicoloured images and lettering are powerful celebrations of diversity, which makes the perfect segue from our last talk, “Activism & Art,” where Aisha Ayoade (co-founder of Yellowzine) said that “Activism is a celebration for Artists to be themselves.” Come along, be yourself and enjoy the energy of Aurélia Durand’s vibrant visual parties.
