- Why did you create this work?
I began this project a couple of years ago, wanting to explore my experience of being neurodivergent. I created a lot of images all about the ways in which I struggle with reading and when it was time to make it into a picture book I could not find a happy ending! Finally I realised that creative thinking and determination are what get me through, so my character uses those skills to succeed! - How were your illustrations used?
These are from my upcoming picture book, Wiggling Words - which takes the reader on a fabulous adventure inside the brilliant mind of a neurodivergent reader discovering the joy of stories for the first time! - What materials and techniques did you use?
Hand-printed letterpress blocks, cyanotype printing and drawing with ink - Was this project commissioned?
