Preferred Pronoun?
she/her

Why did you choose to enter this work?
This is one of my favorite covers. I hope it gives off the right mysterious feeling, catches your curiosity, and makes you want to read the book.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
The whale-shaped building makes me smile. As a former architect, I loved being able to expand my imagination and create this dreamlike structure through my illustration.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I'm honored to be selected among so many talented artists from all over the world. It is truly rewarding, and I feel like part of a beautiful creative community.

Where do you usually work?
I'm divided between the office and my home, but any spot is good for inspiration. I made the sketches for this work on the train.

How long did it take to complete your project?
From the first sketches I soon realized that it was the right path to follow and it took about one week to finish the cover.

What is your dream commission?
A commission that lets me discover new things and gives me the freedom and time to make mistakes and experiment.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I have to admit I'm a cat lady—I love drawing cats in every shape and color.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
It's something that I need to remind myself too: Stay in touch with other illustrators. Don't be shy—it’s helpful and motivating to share and discuss your work and doubts with others.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan to do some workshops to nourish my mind and creativity. It’s always refreshing to learn something new and see things from other perspectives.
