- Why did you create this work?
I was commissioned to create an illustrated cover for a novel brimming with imaginative and fantasy elements. It was clear that the mysterious movie theater shaped like a whale was the perfect subject. I loved drawing the dreamlike setting and, with my architectural background, particularly enjoyed designing this unique structure. I also liked making the typography an integral part of the artwork. - How were your illustrations used?
My cover is used for the UK and Italian edition of the novel Whale by Cheon Myeong-kwan - What materials and techniques did you use?
I primarily used digital techniques for my artwork. I began with a drawing in Procreate, then added details and textures, some of which are analog, using Photoshop. - Was this project commissioned?
