Why did you make this work:
I was contacted by the french brand "Drôle de Mosieur" to do an illustration over their famous quote, the maxim of the brand "not from paris madame". They wanted something to express the brand evolution and how this specific quote is blooming and catching, so I went floral.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration use is to be printed and embroidered on a large part of this season's collection, including cap, jacket, coat, sweater and T-shirt.

How did you make this work:
It's a digital drawing made to be translated into embroidery. I have to find the right balance between a more detail work and the right amount of color. The drawing was also supposed to work on a few very different colored backgrounds. A tight relation with the brand and a very clear artistic direction from them was key to the success of this collaboration.

Adrian is a French illustrator currently based in Paris. After studying jewelry and then object design he went back to is first love: illustration. Today he is working freelance with surface designers and fashion companies, making wallpaper and garment pattern as well as illustration. His quirky and colorful work is inspired by architecture, wildlife and funky pattern.
