Why did you make this work:
In our daily lives, rules permeate, from road signs to instruction manuals, encompassing explicit directives and unspoken norms. They serve as guides and contributors, shaping our adherence to prescribed actions within established circles. I made a book with symbols and rules. Each page turn breaks the previous page's rules, urging viewers to confront and question often unnoticed conventions.

River Jiang is a Chinese illustrator based in London. Her artwork combines digital painting with vibrant colors and captivating designs. Inspired by themes such as family relationships, childhood memories, River’s illustrations evoke a sense of wonder and nostalgia. She also has a strong interest in traditional crafts and printing techniques like riso and screen printing.
