Inside Illustration Course members’ illustrations
As part of the Inside Illustration Editorial Season in 2022 we created a four part Creative Practice Course along with illustrator Dave Bain. This was an opportunity for AOI members to hear from experienced editorial illustrators and explore responses to briefs set by these guest illustrators in each session.
The four sessions focused on Current Affairs with Kotryna Zukauskaite, Lifestyle illustration with Vanessa Lovegrove, Food with Bett Norris and Portaiture with Sarah Tanat-Jones. In each session, after the illustrator’s talk and a Q&A members discussed each other’s rough drawings and then completed their artwork after the sessions if they wished to.
We have been very impressed with the quality of members’ work and have created a Folio of work to showcase the images. Check our the Inside Illustration Editorial – Current Affairs Folio responding to the briefs on ‘Precise medicine’ (DNA-based personalised medicine), and Social media’s affect on one’s mental health.
There will be more Folios to come of members’ artwork.
