Folio Illustration Agency announces Folio Lab
Illustration agency and AOI member Folio launches its own in-house animation studio on 28 January 2022, offering end-to-end production for clients of Folio’s international artists.
Folio has for decades delivered a range styles by industry-leading artists. Now, with Folio Lab, the agency will take client projects from initial storyboarding to final broadcast-quality animation.
Nick Dawe, who founded Folio in 1976 and is still plays a hands-on role, says: “Folio has always explored new trends and technologies, from outstanding airbrush works in the 1980s, through pioneering digital illustrations in the 1990s to the rise of animation in the mobile age. I’m delighted that Pete has agreed to lead this new venture and I can’t wait to see what future metaverses we explore as illustration continues to evolve.”
Led by Head of Animation Pete Henderson, a renowned illustrator-animator himself, the Folio Lab studio will (in their own words) ‘deliver polished projects with noted visual flair and a dedicated professionalism’, honed through Pete’s own long industry experience.
