In partnership with the USA-based Directory of Illustration, we are delighted to announce that the World Illustration Awards 2022 are now open for entries until 23 February 2022.
This year we will be celebrating great illustration from across the globe, with an emphasis on supporting and connecting illustrators with each other and the industry.
Commissioners value the Awards for identifying current trends and finding undiscovered talent, and illustrators value the support, connection and sense of community participating brings. The awards assemble an array of creativity and innovation, highlighting diverse approaches to illustration and offering an insight into current practice.

The World Illustration Awards are a year-round celebration of the power and diversity of illustration being made today. Selected entries are shared on the popular @worldillustrationawards Instagram as they come in.
This is followed by the announcement in June of 500 longlisted projects, and then the release of the 200 shortlisted projects which will feature in an Online Showcase launching in September. The cycle ends with the excitement of the winners announcement and release of the printed catalogue in November. One New Talent and one Professional Overall winner will be awarded cash prizes and profiled on the AOI website.
This globally-recognised competition has ten industry-relevant categories and is judged by distinguished professionals from the global illustration industry.
Illustrators, (working individually or as collectives), commissioners, agents and tutors are invited to submit work created, commissioned or published since January 2021, until the deadline into the ten categories of the Awards.
Entries can be submitted until the end of the day 23 February 2021 (extended deadline) via the online application form.
