Augusta Akerman, Crape on the Door
En Masse debut their first collective, ‘WE ARE THE WOMEN’, at Clerkenwell Design Week in the House of Detention. The nine women selected are pushing the boundaries in design solutions, concept design, and fabric installation. As part of the collective, AOI member Augusta Akerman will be exhibiting her new collection of illustrated textiles and wallpapers.
This exhibition offers a opportunity to purchase original works that were produced in 2008 by a roll call of artist-illustrators, painters, designers and public figures for whom drawing is important. Each work is autobiographical, based on the Victorian parlour game in which players were asked to describe themselves through a series of drawings of their favourite things.
