New Designers 2011
New Designers is unrivalled in Europe in bringing together such a broad cross-section of fresh, new design talent – over 3,500 newly graduated designers, representing the top 200 UK design courses – under one roof. Every summer, New Designers helps thousands of graduates to launch their career at the spectacular Business Design Centre in London.
The event was a great success this year attracting strong attendance of 15,458 visitors. The exhibition attracted representative from leading companies and galleries seeking to recruit new talent, commission work, purchase for collections and offer future exhibition opportunities.
As Media Partners, the AOI had a stand during Part 2 of this year’s event, which took place from Wednesday 6 July to Saturday 9 July. Part 2 included graduates working within the following disciplines Product Design, Furniture Design, Spatial Design and of course Visual Communications (including Graphic Design and Illustration).
The AOI stand was located alongside One Year On – which showcased a selected group of 50 cutting edge designers and makers now one year on into their business. Opposite our stand we had the pleasure of watching creative design agency Monorex illustrate their stand on the first day, gearing up for the Secret Wars event which featured artists battling it out against each other to create a visual spectacle in front of a live audience. AOI Project Manager, Derek Brazell also took part in the events programme, presenting a guide to a career in illustration after graduation.
It was great to see so much fantastic work by graduates from the many universities that had stands at the event and to all the new members that joined this year – we look forward to advising you in the exciting times ahead!
