Reflecting on The WIA2023 Touring Exhibition at the University of Hertfordshire
As we look ahead to this year’s WIA2024 Touring Exhibition (find out more about how to hire here), we’ve been reflecting on the success of this year’s exhibitions.
We have showcased the incredible work of our WIA2023 winners and highly commended projects across all ten categories in multiple venues around the world.
One of these venues being The University of Hertfordshire. They opened their WIA2023 Touring Exhibition at their Art + Design Gallery in February this year. After popular demand the exhibition was later extended until the end of April!
In addition to the exhibition, the university also hosted a series of events. A Private View, Family Arts and Craft days, Workshops with local secondary schools and an Inside the World of Illustration: In Conversation Event, which included a speaker from the AOI Awards team.
The University estimated a total of 3,627 people visiting the space over the course of the exhibition. Take a look at some of the highlights below.
It was great to hear from those who visited the exhibition:
Really interesting exhibition! Some fab artworks on display.
Amazing to look at – extremely inspiring and displays a wide range of skills and emotion.
So pleased to see the university hosting this. An exhibition of wonderful and inspiring illustrations.
Very inspiring exhibition that reassures that there is a future for illustration as a profession. I brought my 13-year-old who found it highly educational and will help them make a well-informed about future cademic and career choices.
Thanks so much to the whole team at The University of Hertfordshire for putting on such a great exhibition.
We will be sharing news of the WIA2023 Touring Exhibition in China later this summer, so watch this space.
