I’m Amber Ravenscroft, an illustrator living in the UK and surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Peak District.
I’m currently writing and illustrating my first children’s picture book and I’d love to work with other authors on their stories too.
I draw my inspiration from the mysterious and ancient local countryside and the half-forgotten stories it has to tell. The surrounding wild heaths and moors, undiscovered Anglo-Saxon treasure troves and medieval buildings provide a perfect springboard for my imagination.
I illustrate for children’s picture books and create designs for home décor and wall art for clients, stationery, baby/children’s apparel with delicate and intricate work.
I studied Art and Design at New College, Nottingham, and Fine Art at Staffordshire University, my lifelong dream is to illustrate and write many children’s picture books.
I also love participating in online art courses, as I am always pushing myself to learn new techniques.
These courses are chosen carefully, as aside from allowing me the opportunity to stretch myself, they open the door to my love of shiny things glittering in the darkness, the mood of landscape, and the complexity of peculiar, out-of-the-ordinary characters.
