Lucy Davey – Waitrose Christmas Winter Village Chocolate Box
Professional
Designed for Waitrose’s 2023 Christmas range. This illustrative Winter Village Chocolate box showcases Lucy’s ability to create a series of illustrations in a variety of designs.
The detailed fold out drawers, cut-out elements and pop ups, creating depth and an interactive feel.
The incredible use of story telling takes us across a snowy landscape showing joyful, festive activities,

Thoughts on Waitrose Christmas Winter Village Chocolate Box from one of our Judges:
I believe it comes with an awesome execution, and the pop-up packages have a nice feeling, if I bought this chocolate package I wouldn’t throw in the trash because it looks so beautiful….Because of this I believe the design in this project is really powerful.

Using geometric shapes and playful character design these illustrative patterns were designed for makeup brand Jamie Makeup.
Used for the brand new eye shadow stick and PR gift boxes.
The playful style and feminine palette were a perfect match for the brand identity.

We asked them to tell us what their favourite thing about their shortlisted project was?
The birds! So I hope they feel home in my world of geometric shapes and bold colors. I also like that the large animals make the characters so small, and I guess all their problems look smaller too.
Eva Cremers – H&M x Eva Cremers
Professional
Commissioned by H&M, this global kids collection embraces children’s self-expression and creativity.
Inspired by the metaverse and gaming, the joyful illustrated shapes create striking pattern designs.
Eva’s graphic 3D CGI style feels modern and fresh whilst remaining energetic, playful and kid friendly.
Eva Cremers is a 3D Artist and Illustrator based in The Netherlands.

We asked them for their best tips for other illustrators?
Don’t listen people that are putting you down about your work. If there aren’t many artist doing your style at the moment, that might be a good thing.
Shawn Choi – The Kidults Fair Illustration
New Talent
Created as an illustration design school project, where Shawn lives in Seoul, South-Korea there are lots of annual Illustration & Character fairs, where not only children but also many “kidults” go.
As a kidult and an audience of this fair, Shawn made illustrations and designed package and products for this event based on the ” Kidults characters” that they drew.

Sesili Eloshvili – Blitz Fizz Cocktails
New Talent
Created as a final project for their packaging class, the aim of the project was to create designs that would evoke the feeling of being young and special.
The drinks are made for people who love to have fun wherever, whenever. They researched the origin of the drinks and chose to use humanlike animals wearing time period clothes to convey the essence of each drink.
Sesili Eloshvili is an illustrator based in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Alex Chen – Animal Crochet Party
New Talent
These heartwarming packaging designs for Animal Crochet Store capture the warmth of each cuddly toy.
The series of package designs shows a unique magical portal, woven from yarn reflecting how crafting can take you out of everyday life and into a mindful new space.
The clear and informative illustrations on the back, fused with a fantastical element creates playful and practical packaging!

Thoughts on Animal Crochet Party from one of our Judges:
Cute crochet animals are highly compatible with the product and easily allow consumers to relate to the product. The animal image of crochet is not only special, such a form of expression has the significance of promoting product sales.

Shortlisted for Professional Design Product & Packaging Category for their project GO TO MUSEUM
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
Visiting museums is my favorite thing in my routine. This project includes 10 art museums, their representative artworks, and brief knowledge about them. I can’t wait to share it with everybody.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
You always design even when there is no commission. You always design to communicate a message, an idea or an emotion.
