Children’s Illustrator
Born to a strong northern english family I was indoors a lot as a kid, due to the inclement weather and risk of rosy cheeks. I spent all family occasions under the table drawing characters and tying people’s shoelaces together. It was 1990 when my rise to stardom finally arrived and I smoked my competition at the holiday camp’s ‘colouring in’ contest. “I will draw for a living!” I proclaimed on the winners podium, as I held my certificate in my sweaty little hand. Since then I have been working hard to fulfill that promise to my 9 year old self. With a brief departure into set and costume design for theatre, lasting 15 years, I have always drawn, created and illustrated. If I’m not at my desk working you can find me drinking tea and baking cakes. It’s always a party at my house.
