Why did you make this work:
This illustration was commissioned by Wrappr, a Reusable No-Waste Furoshiki Gift Wrap company. Their brief said the illustration had to appeal to a young audience and evoke the fall season.  I had a personal desire to have Japanese art as a visual reference to honor the roots of the Furoshiki tradition, and Canadian Flora as a botanical reference because that is where the brand is from.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration was used in a Reusable No-Waste Furoshiki Gift Wrap for the Wrappr 2021 Fall Collection. It is also available in two other colours.

How did you make this work:
I started sketching on paper, working on playful compositions inspired by the feeling of exploring nature as a child when everything is possible and rivers and lakes meet the sky. When I had the best two options, I cleaned them in Procreate and delivered them to the client with colour proposals. Once approved, I worked in Adobe Illustrator to vectorize and finish the artwork.
