- Why did you create this work?
As a born and bred south Londoner based in Croydon, I was commissioned by Laura Nevill to create a new piece of community inspired artwork as part of the Let's Do London Better campaign. Music has heavily influenced my work over the years so I decided to focus on the Croydon music scene, both past and present, celebrating south London's unique mix of styles and cultures. - How were your illustrations used?
The illustration is primarily used as a mural on a 15m x 3m hoarding covering the front of the old Allders department store in Croydon while renovations are being carried out. In addition to the illustration, an animated version by designer Alex Hill is accessible by the public via a QR code printed on the mural, which encourages community interaction. - What materials and techniques did you use?
The artwork was created entirely in Adobe Illustrator, then animated by designer Alex Hill using Adobe After Effects. - Was this project commissioned?
