Tatia Nadareishvili
The Man Who Loved Literature - limited edition book

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
It is a memorial, limited edition of “The Man Who Loved Literature” By famous Georgian writer Guram dochnashvili. It was commissioned by Saba Literary Prize, which is most important literary award in Georgia. Story itself is one of the most beloved texts in the country and I was happy to create illustrations for it. There was no brief, I was free to choose the new concept of its visual style.

How was the illustration used:
It is a memorial, special limited edition book, which was sent to people right before the award ceremony ''Saba 2021''

How did you make this work:
It was quite a challenge, in the text there are either dialogs or monologs. It is full of metaphors, and always playing between the imagination and reality. I wanted to keep the same atmosphere in illustrations too. I took one color as the metaphor and used for all illustrations. Technique is: monoprints and pencil drawings, scanned and mixed in photoshop.
