Cover for the German Magazine "Psychologie Heute". My Task was to symbolize a way out of a depression. Not too dark, showing a glimmer of hope, but not too happy of course. It was important for the editors that the image shows that depression might be something a person never gets rid of but has to learn to live with.
How was the illustration used: Cover for the Magazine.
How did you make this work: Photoshop, Cintiq, Paper and Pencil for sketching.

Biography:
Stephan Schmitz is an editorial illustrator born in the Dominican Republic in 1983. He studied illustration at the Lucerne School of Applied Sciences and Arts from 2004 to 2009. He specialises in making initially simple images convey reams of information. Stephan currently lives and works in Zürich, Switzerland.
