This illustration wants to express the process of feminist consciousness awakening: to get rid of the thoughts of being invaded by patriarchy (presented by the blade), and to truly realise that female herself (presented by the Chalice) is a completed human.

Biography:
Shirley Gong is a freelance illustrator based in Chongqing, China. Her academic qualifications include two degrees in art and design. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Oil Painting from Sichuan Fine Art Institution, China and also holds a master’s degree in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, USA. Following her graduation from SCAD she started to be a freelancer.
