Shira Noc
Neon Lights

Design Product & Packaging

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
I was commissioned by PubPlus, a tech company to create five murals and two neon lights for their new headquarters. The neon light characters were selected from the murals. The lights accentuate the informal culture and “playfulness” of the company. Client gave me the freedom to “just go nuts!”. Embracing this opportunity, I created a space odyssey, unleashing characters, music, and space themes.

How was the illustration used:
The lights were prominently displayed in my Client’s central dining room and main corridor.

How did you make this work:
The two characters featured in the lights were created in Adobe Photoshop and then processed as vector outlines using Adobe Illustrator. The lights are built from glass tubes which limits the extent of detail and colours. The challenge was selecting characters suited to clear bold outline form. The “Bowie Cat” was the perfect fit for the challenge while the bunny neon required some tweaking.
