ProfessionalWhy did you make this work:
This was an illustration designed to challenge the "science fiction" genre. The response was to reflect the strange other worldliness of the book narrative. To highlight the outsider, and the breaking of society. Mostly I wanted to celebrate the unusual and poetic writings of Doris Lessing as an inspirational female writer, (all in a very small square!)
How was the illustration used: As a stamp in a set of six, for Royal Mail. Issued April 2021
How did you make this work: Individual drawings and marks were made on paper and combined with photography in photoshop.
