Un-commissioned |
ProfessionalWhy did you make this work:
As the daughter of a biologist and a naturalist, I love animals and to draw them but I rarely have commissions like this. So, taking advantage of all the spare time I had during lockdown, I started this series about "patterned" animal. It's not only funny and relaxing for me, but it's also a good way to improve my skills and portfolio, looking for an exciting commission on a naturalistic subject!
How was the illustration used: I did it as a personal project.
How did you make this work: I did it with Procreate. First I looked for photographic references in order to understand the anatomy and shape of the animal, than I made my own drawing and, lastly, I created the "pattern" on the background, trying to camouflage the animal as much as possible.
