How did you make this work: I created this picture book to visually demonstrate my own experience as a mum to an autistic child. This story shows the sensory processing disorder of an autistic kid when he goes to the hair salon for a haircut. I hope this picturebook brings awareness about some of the challenges autistic kids have. This image is made with drypoint printmaking, monoprint and
photoshop.

Biography:
Samareh Azadi is originally from Iran, currently based in Cambridge UK. She graduated from the MA Children's Book Illustration course at Cambridge School of Art in 2021 and is a freelance illustrator. She also works in a school for high-functioning autistic children.
