Why did you make this work:
Up until recently I had always been working with a wide range of colours so, for this project, I wanted to challenge myself to create a set of illustrations using just two-colours. I also wanted to tell a story and set of emotions which didn’t require any accompanying text. The idea for the story came to me as I am desperate to own my own dog… so I’m hoping dreams really do come true!

How was the illustration used:
The intended use of these illustrations was initially for my portfolio. However, I do hope to develop the tale and, equally, continue to work with a limited colour palette - as I'm enjoying the use of one bold colour to communicate important elements of a story.

How did you make this work:
My technique is collage and I work with paper which I paint using acrylic and a roller. Firstly, I made each element of the illustrations by hand (i.e. the dog, a rain drop, a puddle etc). I then scanned these in and pieced them together on the computer to create the final illustration.
