How did you make this work:
This piece was inspired by an article from the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology which discussed the consequences faced by holometabolous insects (insects which undergo metamorphosis) due to thermal and hydric variability. I merged together symbolisms of a "climate clock" and disrupted life cycles of insects to represent this topic. Created using Procreate on the iPad.

Biography:
Rio (Rioka) Hayama is a scientific illustrator based in New York and originally from Tokyo. They are (for now) studying at the Rochester Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in medical illustration.
