She/her - Why did you create this work?
Wolf in the City is a picture book inspired by our need and desire to connect and belong. Wolf is a young statue, in a city full of ‘celebrity’ statues. Surely she belongs with them rather than her dusty old square. We follow her journey through the city with humour as she searches for her home amongst the statues. She ends her journey discovering home is not where she thought. - How were your illustrations used?
The illustrations are part of a whole picture book. They make up the book cover and some internal pages. This project was made as part of the final module of the MA and has now been commissioned by Scallywag Press. - What materials and techniques did you use?
The illustrations were made with gouache and household emulsion combined with coloured pencils and pastels, which were then layered digitally. - Was this project commissioned?
