The brief I gave myself for this image, was to condense into one image, the utter destruction of the Aztec Empire by Conquistador warriors as a Haute Coutre textile design. It fuses fine art with historical illustration.
How was the illustration used: 1st stage study for polymer textile designs.
How did you make this work: This digital image is ongoing in it's R+D in conjunction with deep line cut wax. It is experimental in that a mould is then produced to cast a range of relief sculptures, which themselves form multiple coloured polymer shapes. As the process is highly experimental, a range of theoretical couture
becomes possible, within the geometry of the image.
