Why did you make this work:
I was commissioned by the Illustration Department at The University For The Creative Arts in Farnham, to create a mural in the hallway. I wanted this piece to be something that brightened up the student experience for both returning and new students. I chose the theme to represent the feeling of community and togetherness, the diverse students and the bonds you make that live on after graduating.

Started by roughly mapping out the mural design and proceeded to paint directly onto the wall using wall paints.

Biography:
Nika Mamedova is a Freelance illustrator based in London originally from Azerbaijan. She creates bold, colourful illustrations in a contemporary style. Influences are taken from the every day, looking for fleeting moments to give vibrant life to. Nika studied a BA in Illustration at UCA from 2016-2020 and continued to do an MA from 2020-2021.
