Why did you make this work:
The child in this story observes the sun by playing with her shadow. She listens to the wind tell stories. She tastes snowflakes. And finally, she finds hope in the buds on a cherry tree that survive through the winter to blossom in spring.

How was the illustration used:
This series of 5 illustrations is part of a complete 32 pages children's illustrated album.

How did you make this work:
The illustration are a mix of scanned painted textures, cut and pasted in Photoshop. Digital brushes were also used.

Biography:
I am an illustrator based in Montreal, working as a freelancer. I graduated from Concordia University in Design Arts and am represented by Anna Goodson Illustration Agency. I work on commissioned assignments in both editorial and children's book illustration. I enjoy switching from a long-term children's book adventure to a quick overnight newspaper assignment. My Cintiq tablet and numeric paintbrushes are my favourite tools. In my spare time, I paint from observation with real gouache on paper and it nourrishes the children's illustrations that nourrish the editorial and so on...
