ProfessionalWhy did you make this work:
The covers needed to be cohesive, unique and eye-catching. The target audience (medical professionals) had to be able to identify the topics at a glance, while still ignite amusement and intrigue. The designs and elements needed to work not only as a cover but serve as the visual identity (brand) for these scientific specialties during congresses, online and in social media.
How was the illustration used: Scientific Journal Covers
How did you make this work: I like to use a single style and tool (here Adobe Illustrator) and I love details and patterns, so vectorial was the optimal style for designs to work on small and large surfaces. As a medical illustrator, I must do my research to ensure scientific accuracy, but still allow room for artistic license (palette and layout). I wanted to redefine the sensation of peering into a microscopic universe.
