Mayumi Sasage
Lost In The Rain

Children's Publishing

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
This is an adventure story. Humor and beauty accompany the mystery and danger. The girl is lost in the wonderland and meets many mysterious creatures and then makes an effort to return home safely. They say the white fox is a messenger of God since ancient times in Japan. I wanted to make a story that weaves in the mysterious world, like the folklore of the white fox, with the world of today.

How was the illustration used:
The illustrations were drawn for a picture book. The book is made up of 32 pages. This project has 5 illustrations as a plot of the story.

How did you make this work:
I made textures with oil painting and made a part of the illustration to use in printmaking. In addition to that, I did some digital painting on Procreate.
